We identify what colors they like, as well as the heights and purpose that they want to achieve. Perennial Paradise, as you notice in the pictures, offers many path-like walk ways encircling trees and sitting areas filled with potted perennials tucked neatly together. The black fabric between the flowers is a material I used under rock or mulch applications in a landscaped area. One will notice that the fabric has lines on it representing 12 inch gaps. This allows me to create a scenario similar much to the description the customer is sharing about. We together work on color combinations, leaf texture, and contrast. By the time we are done talking the customer I know exactly what dream they have for their yard. We then begin to select the plants that will help them achieve their goals. It is easy to review magazines and books and say I want this or that. Often times, when this or that is built it is a duplication of the magazine rather than the dream of the homeowner. I strive to discover the heart-throb of the customer and work with them to develop the perfect match for what they want in their landscaping.
