As previous owner of Home Grown Landscapes and now Perennial Paradise, I have installed many perennial garden landscaped projects over the years. I have developed a wealth of knowledge in the areas of perennials, shrubs and trees and external resources that contribute to individuals with gardening and landscape needs. I welcome customers to come and visit and teach me what they know, I wish I knew everything, and am more than willing to learn new t hings.
With increased fuel costs and financial challenges to one and two incomes families, I sensed a growing need of the homeowner wanting to learn how to do their own landscaping and perennial flower gardens.
I found that quality perennial resources became harder and harder to find. The distance I needed to drive to find quality perennials became a challenge. Thus, I decided that educating homeowners to create their own perennial flower gardens and home landscaping would be a good transition.
I have set aside my landscape tools and decided it was time to develop a sound perennial resource garden center in Clearwater County that allowed homeowners to be educated and save money by doing the projects themselves. Perennial Paradise offers quality perennials at a lower cost that you may NOT find in other garden centers outside of Clearwater County in
Minnesota.
All perennials are planted in gallon pots to allow proper root growth and to give you the maximum size plant for your garden needs. As our inventory builds, I pay special attention to bringing in plants that are new and unique, yet hardy for this area. Most of our plants have wintered over for one winter and are Zone 3 hardy.
A teacher myself, educating and teaching others is a passion that I love. Since Perennial Paradise came into existence, I find great joy in learning from others and educating others to create flower gardens and landscapes that they have always dreamed of.
Perennial Paradise Specializes in Perennial Gardens and Landscape Designs

Given proper care and attention by the homeowner, you can expect many years of floral beauty to enhance your yard and home. Perennial Paradise is on the cutting edge of many new ideas that have not yet unfolded. As Perennial Paradise grows and expands into new directions, our main focus is you.
We listen to your needs and desires for new plants that you are unable to find. Your floral requests give us directions on how to expand to meet your needs for the following year. We welcome phone calls of questions that you may have regarding perennial flower gardening concerns.
Save Money with Perennials!
Properly installed perennial gardens can save you thousands of dollars by reducing your need to replant every year. Perennial flowers come back year after year. Perennials often expand and grow and in time need to be split or reseed on their own. When it is time to split your perennials, this allows you a good opportunity to this share with your neighbors and exchange plants, thus networking and gaining friendships.
People often introduce themselves to me by saying, “I don’t know anything about perennials!” They often feel very insecure and insecure, yet want their yards to look beautiful. My comeback is usually, “You are the author of your own garden.” It doesn’t matter what others think. Here let me help you identify what your needs are. We walk around the garden center and identify plants and their different blooming times. The homeowner may give a dimension of the area they want to plant.
Perennial paradise is set up like a giant grid. The landscape, fabric that you walk on between the winding rows of plants have lines on it. The lines are one foot apart and assist me in understanding how big of an area you are talking about from your description of your gardens. As a service to the homeowner we pull perennials out that offer many variances of leaf texture, floral color, different heights and overall and demonstrate it by setting up the plant on the grid. From there if needed we may draw out a sketch for you to go home and recreate what we created on the grid.
Should you have additional needs once you bring your perennials home for a fee we may offer to come out and place the plants for you on your garden plot. You then can go ahead and dig in the plants and with other recommendations we can get you started in the right direction of enjoying your perennial flower gardens.
This creates a new perspective for the customer! Very soon, the homeowner takes ownership of their and begin to show great enthusiasm in the potential of having a garden that they have always dreamed about.
Perennial Paradise not only provides you with strong 2 year rooted Perennials in 1 gallon pots that will grow in a Zone 3 climate, but we go a step further and help educate you in how to develop your garden. Our staff help you design from start to finish a garden that will cause many people to drive by and ohh and aww over your gardens.
- Perennial Paradise desires to educate you in a fashion that you are the author of your own garden.
