Two years ago this garden center was a thistle field… today it is a paradise. I have found in life the act of thinking up a good idea is the easiest part. When you sit down and begin to tackle the project it is easy to give it up, put it back in the box or tell yourself you can’t do it. Somedays, it appears the mosquitoes are just as excited to accompany you. I can count on all the hairs on my head (yes I do have hair-lol) the number of times I have wanted to give up on Perennial Paradise. When things don’t go your way you want to throw in the towel. I determined a long time ago, I was not going to let go of my dream of having a place that people could come to and feel like they are in paradise. Each year Perennial Paradise matures more and more. The trees are getting bigger and the garden center is becoming refined. It is expensive, seems like every time you turn around there is another bill or something that you forgot to buy. But bit by bit, Perennial Paradise is becoming the vision that I pictured in my mind many years ago.
I can hardly wait to have my first sale to see all the excitement of the people breaking from their winter mood and come alive at all the potential flowers that will make their gardening dreams come true. I have to gain as much as anyone else, I love to learn and from the simplest concept to the hardest concept, people are more than eager to share what they have learned in their gardens. Gardeners have an appreciation for other gardeners and it is fun to be with people like this. Most of the time gardeners seem so up beat and like challenge to try something new and are not afraid to fail. They just get up and start over again! Join the family of gardeners and experience the joy of gardening.
Have a great day!
